Why Do I Always Feel Like Peeing During Orgasm?

BadGirls Avatar

In our previous article, we discussed the question, “Does queefing during sex mean I’m loose?” and explained the reasons behind it. Now, let’s address another common concern: “Why do I always feel like peeing during orgasm?”

Many women are curious about this issue:

• Why do I feel like peeing but can’t?

• Why do I always feel the urge to pee during sex?

• Is peeing the same as squirting?

• What exactly is squirting?

• Is it dirty to pee during sex?

Let’s explore these questions to better understand our bodies and enjoy sex more freely.

1. Why Do I Feel Like Peeing During Sex?

Feeling the urge to pee during sex can be due to several factors:

1. Position Stimulation

• The urethra is located near the vaginal wall, so positions like woman on top and doggy style can stimulate the urethra and bladder, causing a sensation of needing to pee. If you don’t want to feel too exposed, you can switch to the missionary position to reduce bladder stimulation.

2. Hydration or Full Bladder

• Drinking water shortly before sex or not emptying your bladder beforehand can cause bladder stimulation during sex, leading to a feeling of needing to pee.

3. Urinary Tract Infection (UTI)

• Women are more prone to UTIs due to the proximity of the anus and urethra and the shorter length of the urethra. If you experience frequent urination, pain, or a burning sensation while urinating, you might have a UTI. Sexual activity can exacerbate the sensation, so it’s essential to seek medical advice if you suspect an infection.

2. Why Do Women Feel Like Peeing During Sex?

The physiological differences between men and women explain this. For men, ejaculation and urination both occur through the penis, so the brain will prioritize one over the other. During orgasm, the muscle that connects the bladder to the urethra tightens, preventing urination.

For women, the urethra and vaginal opening are separate, allowing them to urinate and orgasm simultaneously. The urethra is surrounded by clitoral structures, which can be indirectly stimulated during sex, making it hard to distinguish between needing to pee and nearing orgasm.

So, feeling the urge to pee during sex is more common for women. If a male partner feels the same, it might indicate an issue that needs medical attention.

Sometimes, the desire to pee but being unable to do so can also be psychological, as many people feel embarrassed about urinating in front of their partner.

3. Is Squirting Actually Pee?

The feeling of needing to pee during sexual activity is often a precursor to orgasm, known as squirting. Clinical research describes squirting as the expulsion of a clear, water-like fluid through the urethra at the moment of orgasm. This fluid is usually between 15-110 ml in volume.

While there is still ongoing research on the origin of this fluid (since the bladder cannot fill that quickly with normal urine), it is known to be stored in the bladder and expelled through the urethra. However, this fluid has less urea and is less odorous than regular urine, which is why some believe it is not the same as urine.

In essence, the fluid expelled during squirting is diluted urine with some secretions from the Skene’s glands. Whether you consider it urine depends on your perspective.

4. Is It Dirty to Pee During Sex?

Many women hesitate to pee during sex, thinking it’s dirty. However, urine is not as dirty as we might think. It mainly consists of water, with small amounts of inorganic salts, uric acid, urea, creatinine, etc. These substances have low bacterial content and are within the body’s acceptable range.

Urine only becomes a breeding ground for bacteria when exposed to air for extended periods. During orgasm, the expelled fluid is highly diluted, with low levels of harmful substances and bacteria. Proper cleaning afterward ensures hygiene.

5. To Pee or Not to Pee?

Whether to pee or not during orgasm is a personal choice. If you feel it interrupts the moment, here are some tips to help you feel more comfortable:

1. Prepare: Empty your bladder before sex and have disposable pads ready for easy cleanup.

2. Shower Sex: Try it in the shower for easy cleaning and reduced psychological pressure from the sound of water.

3. Communicate: Talk to your partner about your feelings. Men might see it as a positive sign of their performance, encouraging you to release.

If you can’t or don’t want to pee during sex, that’s perfectly fine too. The control over your body is in your hands.

Feeling the urge to pee during sex is a normal part of reaching orgasm. It’s not as dirty as you might think, and holding it in can be harmful. Follow your body’s cues and do what makes you feel relaxed and happy. And remember, it’s okay if you don’t pee – the goal is to enjoy the experience.
